From Angel's livejournal this morning, a link to this BBC article: "Florida girl has abortion blocked"

A pregnant 13-year-old girl in Florida has been told she cannot have an abortion because she lacks the maturity to make such a decision.

A state court granted an injunction which prevents the girl from terminating her pregnancy.

I'm just flabbergasted.  Yes, it's a tragedy that someone so young and so unprepared for motherhood is pregnant, but it's pointless to moan and whine about a circumstance that cannot be changed.  As it stands now, these circumstances dictate one of two events occurring:  a childbirth or an abortion.

Yes, irresponsibility got her in the position she's in now, but not allowing her any say in the outcome troubles me more than I can express.
