This is another quickie baby quilt -- quickie because this little girl was just born, and babies don't stay babies for long!

This quilt is an odd combination: the gentle florals of Liberty fabric with the unusual patternings of mathematical tilings. Okay, it's odd to anyone else but ME. Here's the pattern I'm using to make this quilt:

Snips and Snails

This quilt was my main intention: a twin-sized quilt that E. could use throughout his childhood. This set of two quilts was for Annie, a co-worker of mine at the library. The main sentimental part of the quilt is the star fabric, which came from a shirt of her mother's. Her mother, Helen, was a co-worker of mine as well until she died of cancer not too long before Annie's son was born. His grandmother would have ADORED him, and this way, he has a bit of her life in his quilt. I had one more large square piece of the star fabric, so I decided to do a baby quilt, too.Snips and Snails: the forever edition

This placeholder has been here long enough that I think I'm safe rewriting it and being more explicit about the details of this quilt. Believe me when I say that keeping this under wraps has been making me crazy, and I've wanted to talk about it -- wanted! wanted!

Annie is a co-worker of mine. Annie is also one of the nicest, sweetest, and most decent people you'll ever meet. She's a pleasure to take a lunch with, and a day-brightener whenever you run into her in the hallway.
